Black Pearl is more than high-quality charcoal. It is enriched with high-quality ingredients such as biochar, volcanic dust, low molecular weight humates, and even kelp.

Application Rate: Mix 900ml into 36L of growing medium.
Activated charcoal was first discovered thousands of years ago to increase crop yield and improve soil quality. Modern technology has been applied to an age-old practice, resulting in a premium biochar that can be used for supercharging soilless media and soilless media.
The carefully selected ingredients promote soil biology and increase nutrient cycling as well as moisture holding capacity.
Black Pearl was the very first product to be added to the Grotek Green Line! Grotek introduced biochar to our industry in 2009 as a way to improve soil quality.
Continuing research led to a 60% increase in the Biochar content of our formula. Biochar, when used in a soil and nutrition management program, can improve plant growth and soil quality. It also supports beneficial microbes in rhizosphere.

Biochar is not all created equal. Making Biochar requires more than just lighting a fire and putting ash and charcoal in your containers. Black Pearl Biochar is a virgin wood fiber, made from sustainably managed forests.
It is engineered through pyrolysis (low oxygen combustion) and harvested using sustainable methods. The International Biochar Initiative considers it a Class 1 product. It has an extraordinary surface area of more than 700m2/g.
